NYE: How was it?

Jeff and I had a lovely New Year's Eve here in SB. Low key compared to previous years, but wonderful: dinner at Arrigato with Nathan and Erin (and another, non-C.D. couple), mulled wine and cider and movies and hot tub at our house, visits from Liam and Jason, North and Co., and Tomatillo and a blissfully un-hungover New Year's Day that we celebrated as though we had hangovers (red meat for breakfast, watching movies all day).

But we missed you all, and can't wait to hear about Sea of Dreams and Cirk-o-Six (or whatever else you were up to). Post news! Post photos! Give us our vicarious thrills, will ya?

xoxo,
Molly, who is soooo happy for last year to be over

Anon's party in SF was killer. First, the venue was the perfect canvas for such an event, and the folks put in a huge effort in making look totally arty and burnerific! Add to that a team of great folks working the event (DPW representing at the bars...greatly appreciated!) and lots of outlandish costumes and burner-types everywhere provided a great vibe!

Great music was heard, though we avoided the Cheese (I think the cheese vibe deserves another thread, I'm still a little scarred by what was witnessed from wanderings though that part of the event.)

All told, we arrived early, and closed the event, feeling very good about the entire experience (laughing all the way)...

yeah, Sea of Dreams was FUCKING FANTASTIC!!
i'm pretty sure the only way they could top it is by having
it at the same venue next year and keeping with the same promoters
(and by adding more RAD dj's and nixing the CHEESE ;o)

i couldn't have hoped for a better end to a mostly sketchy year
but to have closed out 2005 at the Sea of Dreams more than made
up for it!! the vibe, place, artwork, muzak and peeps were gorgeous.

the only thing missing was all the rest of my friends who couldn't
make it but u were there in spirit and in my heart, too.
      love u guys!!

      *sigh*

Cirko-6 in LA was packed, maybe because of the rain, maybe because Giant village and Greensector were both cancelled last minute like. maybe because the place was gorgeous.

I spent all day there helping with set up and doing what I love to do illuminating the venue and watching it transform into a context for exubereant celebration. The LA Theatre is just an amazing building - full baroque style and so many neat nooks to discover.

Mostly I enjoyed being with the rest of the family that made it out and dancing to wicked beats until sunrise at Space Island.

There were so many great sexy costumes, the people were just glowing with charisma. Great way to spend NYE!

Movies/dinner/hot tub and such sounds wonderful - do we need an excuse to do it again soon?

Unfortunately, my camera that replaced my camera that got stolen, that replaced my other camera that got stolen, ceased to function soon after the feast. I was therefore required to take all sights into my eyes and fully observe, which was refreshing. So - pictures from me this time.

    love to you all!

    Burn clean!

hummm - liliana and I and some family soho-ed to sambada, brazilians belting out their finest. home early after 12 to grab the little girl wonder and plop her into bed, daniela has just enjoyed her first new year and is now a proven baby burner. Hope to be in the middle of it all next year, and glad the past with all of its joys and sorrows are past. can't wait to wallow in hugs from all of you. cheers,
    L,S, and D.
